Asger Jorn, born as Asger Oluf Jørgensen, was a versatile artist: painter, ceramicist, writer, and philosopher. He was one of the co-founders of the CoBrA movement (Copenhagen, Brussels, Amsterdam), an avant-garde art movement that opposed academic art and advocated for spontaneous, expressive, and collective creation. Jorn was also involved in other radical artistic and political movements, such as the Situationist International, which aimed to unite art and politics in a revolutionary practice.
