Piroeh One is the artist name of Pieter Van den Bergh, a Belgian artist and a graduate of the LUCA School of Arts in Ghent who began his artistic journey as a graffiti artist. His oeuvre today also includes canvas paintings and sculptures.
His style combines elements of abstract art and graffiti, in which he - inspired by artists such as Kaws, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Mark Rothko, Keith Haring, and Christopher Wool - deconstructs the aesthetics of graffiti to explore the intersection between contemporary art and street culture.
Piroeh's oeuvre is characterized by expressive use of color, conveying both playfulness and emotional intensity. In his monochrome series - black-and-white and black-on-black - he experiments with perspective, light, and texture to emphasize movement and depth. His sculptures follow the same formal language, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with the emotions that make us human.
