What if summer never had to end?
Isabelle Derecque captures the feeling of endless summer days through light, colour and reflection. Her poppy and cinematic images evoke the spirit of sun, sea, freedom and the vintage Miami of her childhood.
Isabelle does not paint on canvas, but on mirrored plexiglass. The environment becomes part of the work. Light moves, colours shift, silhouettes appear and disappear. No image ever remains quite the same.
"Summer never ends" is an ode to that carefree, colourful summer feeling - a world where memory, reality and imagination come together.
