Extra info: This work is part of the Summer Nights series (2025), in which the artist experiments with bichromatic compositions on a reflective surface. The series is built around two colours, with a dominant tone of deep, highly pigmented blue inspired by Yves Klein.
The series' title Summer Nights alludes to sultry, mysterious nights in faraway places and to the disorienting feeling of arriving in unfamiliar surroundings. This atmosphere is further enhanced by influences from vintage cinema - evoking the worlds of David Lynch, Quentin Tarantino, or Tim Burton.
The work contains a light painted wood frame and is executed on plexi-mirror, allowing the image to be reflected both literally and metaphorically.
