Les Amis II (1961) is an exceptional early material-based work by Bram Bogart. Executed on jute with a cement structure, it emphasises the physical presence of the material and the expressive power of the surface. Its raw texture and powerful materiality make it a characteristic example of Bogart's innovative approach to painting. Owing to its quality, rarity, and historical significance, Les Amis II possesses a distinctly museum-quality character.
